Go At Your Own Pace

Oct. 2022: Somewhere between the states of Quintana Roo and Yucatán, thanks to the recommendation of a friend, I discovered this small fishing village off the Gulf of Mexico coast. On most days, I had the sunrise, sunset, and beach all to myself, aside from the handful of national tourists I encountered throughout my stay. Where commercial influence has only slowly started to creep into the local landscape, it continues to preserve its small-town charm.

In a few years, I hope it continues to move at its own leisurely pace, despite the constant pressure for bigger, faster, stronger that seems to be sucking the life out of many other parts of this world.
